@75DrummerBoy I happen to be good friends with those who are studio musicians in Nashville who actually play the instruments on the demos and the master takes by the artist. They hate American Idol because they know that Carrie sounds no better than the demos singers they work with and yet she is a superstar. They also say that Carrie is an unoriginal and actually copies the demo style.

So Carrie ruins the song and she’s just another demo singer huh? well that just proves you do not know what real talent is when you hear it. Carrie Underwood is an awesome singer and sounds great singing with Elvis!

Nice updated arrangement, yet retains the “feel” of the 1957 original.

Well, I liked it. And it was interesting to know that it was his family that chose Carrie (along with the others) to do the duet. As far as the mix goes… it could probably be you notice the quality of the recordings are different. I’m sure if they actually did the duet together with the same equipment, it would be amazing.

Carrie sounded wonderful, and Elvis… need I say more?

carrie ruins this song, no one sounds good after hearing Elvis, and I mean NO ONE!
Carrie is just another demo singer, Elvis is the King!

Oh posh – It’s not like you still can’t listen to these songs solo by Elvis – I think it’s a great thing to do and the album is great

The harmony part was superb. And Carrie nailed this song again.

There was a reason Elvis didn’t do duets. He didn’t need them and he knew it. That’s why people waited until he was dead to cash in because he can’t say a thing about it.”
I couldn’t agree with you more!
No one in the world can match Elvis’ brilliance at all, nor come close to such a tender and soothing voice.. Anyone that triest to do a duet kills the song in my opinion.
They take advantage of the fact that he cant say no.

  19. hydemegumi4ever says:

Hmm, I don’t know about this duet. Both of them did amazingly well but it just didn’t blend well? I don’t know, it sounded like someone else just randomly mixed both version together LOL
